Dr Stephen Troup

Steve has worked in the field of clinical embryology for over 20 years both in the Manchester units, completing a PhD in male infertility during this time, and more recently as the Scientific Director of the Hewitt Centre for Reproductive Medicine at Liverpool Women’s Hospital. In addition to the many day-to-day ‘hands-on’, managerial and research responsibilities of a clinical embryologist, Steve is fortunate to have been afforded a broader perspective as a Scientific Inspector and advisor for the HFEA. Steve remains very much involved in clinical embryology as a profession and now chairs the UK's Association of Clinical Embryologists. Steve describes himself as being ‘…committed to the fundamental and increasingly acknowledged role of the clinical embryologist within the field of reproductive medicine, and believing firmly in the open and honest sharing of information and ideas.
