Mr Luciano Nardo

Luciano is a Consultant in Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine working at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester. He is an RCOG accredited subspecialist in reproductive medicine and surgery, and has clinical interests in infertility, assisted conception, pelvic pain, endometriosis, menstrual dysfunction, gynaecological endocrinology and endoscopic gynaecological surgery. He is an associate member of many international learned societies. He serves on the executive committee of the British Fertility Society (BFS) and is the chair of the Training Subcommittee. He is the RCOG lead for the ATSM in subfertility and reproductive endocrinology in the North Western Deanery.
Luciano has obtained an MD studying the endometrial changes during the menstrual cycle in women with normal and abnormal histological findings. He now has an active research programme both in the UK and abroad focusing on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, ovarian reserve and mechanisms of embryo implantation. He has published widely on many aspects of benign gynaecology, infertility, PCOS, reproductive medicine and surgery, and has written a number of textbook chapters and journal supplements. He is ad-hoc reviewer for many scientific journals and is editor of the peer-reviewed journal Reproductive Biomedicine.
